"F.F.A." is an abbreviation for "Free For All." An FFA site is simply a website where you can go to post a small advertisement for your website. The ad is a one-line "headline," which is a hot link to your main website. In other words you are "posting" a small, one-line ad that is a link to your website.

Most FFA websites have several hundred of these listings. In some cases they'll have thousands of these listings. Since it is free for all to post their ad headline on these sites, they became known as Free For All, or the abbreviated term, “FFA sites.” In reality, FFA Sites are link farms. "Classified ad sites" and "FFA sites" are basically the same, with some minor differences. On Classified ad sites, you can actually include more of a “classified” type advertisement consisting of a few lines of text, together with your hyperlink to your website. They are both a free form of advertising, and can result in your ad immediately becoming lost amidst the thousands of other ads on these sites. Plus, your posting to one of these “FFA sites” only remains on the page for approximately one hour, and is then rotated off the page by others who come along and post behind you within the same category.

Needless to say, it is not highly effective and not likely to bring you any meaningful profit to your business. For reasons that I simply do not understand, the majority of the internet marketing community has not yet figured this out, and thousands upon thousands of people continue to post to FFA sites every day. In my humble opinion, it is about as effective as nailing Jell-O to a tree, yet people just keep on wasting their energies on this kind of advertising and making no money! Pardon my ignorance, but I just don’t get it!

If these people realized that nobody ever saw their ads, don’t you think they would try something different, like getting their advertisements before people who are likely to buy? Specifically, other internet marketers? Of course they would! But because these people continue to post to FFA pages, one can only conclude that they simply don’t know that they are wasting their time and efforts!

Okay, enough of what doesn’t work. Now let’s review the methods that I have found to be highly effective in bringing traffic to my websites and that create income for me. This system consists of several different advertising methods that I use simultaneously in conjunction with one another to create a stampede of traffic to my sites and as a result, a healthy income.

Reverse Psychology

Reverse psychology works! It works with kids, it works in sales and it works on the internet. Why does it work? People don’t like to be told what to do. Telling someone what to do when they don’t want to hear it only makes them rebel – they go the extreme opposite direction, often just to show you who is boss! People don’t like to be “told” and they don’t like to be “sold.” They like to have control of their own decisions and base those decisions upon their own emotion. At this point, you are probably wondering “What on earth is she talking about, this reverse psychology stuff?”

Think about this: If you receive an email from someone you don’t know (usually with a hyperventilating subject line!) what happens? Click! It goes right to the trash bin. Must be a sales pitch – it’s junk. But what happens when you respond to someone, with information they are seeking? You usually receive a different reaction. They still feel as if they are in control, because they have “stated their case” first. Only then are they willing to listen to a response. Well, let’s look at this FFA thing just a little closer.

The people posting to these FFA pages are “stating their case.” They are getting their ads out where they are sure that thousands will see and come swarming to their websites to make a purchase. After a while, they start to get weary when they get no visitors. They start to wonder what was wrong with their ad. After consistently posting for weeks and sometimes months with no response, they start to get downright frustrated - sometimes even postal! I say this from experience because there were countless times I was ready to hurl my computer down the stairs when I couldn’t seem to get this marketing thing right!

If these FFA pages are worthless, why on earth would anyone bother going through the hassle of hosting an FFA website for you and hundreds of other people to post their ads? It's free, so it’s not like they are making any money from it! What’s the point? Don’t they know what they are doing?
