Now that you have sent your customers an introductory email, you will need to follow it up with some valuable information. If you can give your subscribers information that they find interesting and/or useful, it will go a long way toward creating a strong bond and an ongoing relationship with them. Many companies don't take this step and fall short for their subscribers as a result. For their part, the subscribers may get bored. If this happens, they are much more likely to simply cancel their subscription. One way to counter the boredom is to offer your subscribers an e-course.

Developing an e-course and distributing it to your subscribers on a regular basis can help you keep your relationship with them going. Course "lessons" or components may be delivered in the form of an email message or as links to a specific page on your website. The goal of offering an e-course is to create a sense of value and importance to the messages you are sending out. If your subscribers find the information they receive from you is valuable, they may well share it with others voluntarily. With each chapter or portion of the course you share with your subscribers, you are creating a stronger relationship with the people on your list.

Each part of the e-course will include the articles or information itself, your company logo, a link to your website, and your contact information. You may want to consider the e-course as a portal to your website. The goal here is not to do any direct selling; instead, you will be creating a product that is interesting and valuable to the subscriber to keep them informed. Most of all, you want to keep your company on your subscribers' radar.

Plan on it taking a minimum of five emails for your subscriber to turn to your company or service for more information on a consistent basis. An e-course becomes an email workshop that will help your subscribers to stay interested and up-to-date on your product offerings. It's not enough to create a batch of articles; you really need to put together information that will capture the interest of your target group.
